DCB Automation has been designing AOI systems for some 12 years. We design and manufacture in house at our works in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. All our products use products from approved sources so that we can be confident of the long term reliability of our systems.

The original DCB Automation inspection machine SuperVision while now obsolete is still maintained by our own staff and most are still in continuous operation. To ensure we kept abreast of new technologies UltraVision was developed giving us inspection capability performance down to component case size 01005 and component leg pitch down to 0.3mm. EasyVision was later developed to replace SuperVision and offer a more beneficial cost solution to those assembly customers who do not need to inspect components below 0402 case size or place components with leg pitches below 0.4mm.

We are proud of the fact that many of our customers are multiple users of our products (one customer having 5 units) and some customers have transferred from competitors machines to ours. In these cases users have appreciated the quality of our programming software as being far superior to that of our competitors. In all cases our customers also acknowledge the quality of our support and rapid response.

We are continually looking at increasing our range of software facilities and looking at the development of new products in this field.

While AOI inspection has generally been associated with the electronics manufacturing market we are now extending our product range into the mechanical engineering environment. We are currently investigating the inspection of printed information on food products, the accuracy of blanks in fabricated products, the accuracy of chemically milled components, the accuracy of formed components and the correct assembly of screw and washer combinations on complex assemblies.
