Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI)

In 1999 the business (then trading as Valley Automation) produced its first Comparator systems to meet the needs of their small but successful SMT production line. Demand for the product grew, and the unit was adapted by increasing speed and software capability into a full Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) system. SuperVision in its MK III guise continued as the company’s main product line through to 2010.

2008 saw the introduction of  UltraVision, an Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) system using a 4M Pixel camera which is capable of inspecting components down to 01005. With a laser fitted as standard and full colour angled lighting this unit gives exceptional value for money as a high resolution Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) system. This capability future proofs the investment in AOI to ensure future developments are catered for.

2010 saw the introduction of a low cost, full colour, 2M Pixel Automated Optical Inspection machine, EasyVision. With the same full colour lighting as UltraVision and optional laser this unit is capable of inspecting components down to 0402 size, so addressing the majority of today’s current needs. With pricing lower than it's predecessor it is exceptional value for money, and using the same software as UltraVision (with transferability of programmers) it is again future proofing investment.

Continued development has seen a number of additional options on these machines, including both in-line and magazine feed for UltraVision and a 5M Pixel camera option for EasyVision. 2011 will see continuous development to meet the ever changing needs of the market with a number of bespoke system being developed to meet specific customer demands in specialist markets.

Many of the earliest systems are still in daily use and provide an essential tool to their business. Customers to date include Alps, STI, Axis, TRL, HR Smith and many more from both Contract Manufacturing and OEM markets, all of whom rely on these products on a daily basis.
